Special Care

In April, don't be afraid
Do you know the expression "In April, don't be a stranger"? It means that despite rising temperatures and sunny days, you shouldn't neglect your outdoor clothing. All you have to do is adapt:

  • Replace a winter coat with a spring coat
  • Replace mittens with gloves
  • Replace a winter toque with a mid-season toque or hat
  • Replace snow pants with rain pants
  • Opt for rain boots
  • Don't forget a scarf to hide your neck
  • This adjustment will reduce the chances of you and your children getting sick.

For specialized educational support, please contact the psychosocial reception of the Montreal Military Family Resource Centre by phone at 450-358-7099 #2917 or by e-mail at :SvcPersCRFMSoutienPsyStJean@forces.gc.ca.

Prevention, Support & Intervention

May 17 - World Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia

Did you know that May 17 has been chosen as the symbolic date for the World Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia? The day was chosen to honor the World Health Organization's decision to no longer consider homosexuality a mental illness.

Originating in Quebec and celebrated across 60 countries since 2005, this day reminds us that people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, two-spirited or non-binary continue to suffer significant disparities in terms of job search, acceptance in the workplace, housing search, etc. They are often victims of violence, harassment and intimidation, actions which have serious repercussions on their mental health. This violates a fundamental human right: the right to preserve one's dignity. It is society's duty and effort to show greater understanding and respect for individual choice.

Our team of social workers provides support in times of need and encourages families, children and veterans to contact us if necessary. For support, please contact:
